yaphoo?

hello blog.

ok i haven't been posting a lot... its hard to get inspired to write... sorry about that... this is supposed to be where i attempt to post some of my random musings and 2 cents worth of opinion but i have been to lazy to get my lousy brain working lately... my computer broke down and that didnt help things either...

clearing 16 days of off-in-lieu and 12 days of leave is not easy.. especially with the haze... it requires an extremely thick amount of skin to ask your superiors to approve and even thicker skin to withstand the haze(ok that didnt really make a lot of sense)... its tough... and during that period of extended stoning and complete inactivity it is hard to sleep for more than 11 hours a day without getting tired... sometimes, i get so tired i sleep even more... that didnt really make sense either so i guess i can blame that on sleep as well.. sleeping too much isnt really good for you seriously... i mean for me, one day my mother thought i was dead until i remembered to wake up for lunch...

blaming everything on sleep which i guess is playing the blame game isn't really good cause firstly it makes you look lame especially when you write it on a blog and secondly it makes you look like the government officials pointing their fingers everywhere in the region at this time of the year when the whole nation starts to notice the numbers next to the word PSI and give a damn about the environment they live in.

before i officially point my finger along with government officials of various countries at a certain country whose flag bears an uncanny resemblance to ours, i shall say a few things about this whole annual affair which intrigues me so much that i am finally inspired to write an entry in this blog. i feel that while we suffer and feel sorry for ourselves and our sorry PSI number we should try to draw a few positives from the whole annual affair that south east asia has with the haze... i noticed that i have never seen more singaporeans unite than when something bad hits our country and when we can finally stand up and condemn someone for something so openly without, offending anybody that matters anyway... this annual affair seems to unite people of our country more effectively than national day, when patriotism and propaganda used work hand in hand in perfect harmony...

i feel that since it is this time of the year when the people of our country feel more passionately united than ever in our feelings towards a common object or resentment, we might as well shift national day to this period so that everybody in the nation can finally unite and enjoy an experience that can only be uniquely singapore... ok let me explain myself... national day has become a time when we try to get tickets to a venue where the largest collection of propaganda performances available in modern history is on display... on top of that, we get forced to watch the same music videos of the theme song for the parade which by the way is played repeatedly on radio for people who for some reason bother to request for it... the saf finally gets its chance to show the people its relevance by sending its pilots to do whatever stunt they can come up with and all of it becomes so mundane it almost ends up as a farce which, gasp! doesnt end on august 9th cause the same old music videos continue playing non-stop on channel 5... we are spending too much effort and money and getting people of our good country into a monotonous cycle which threatens to take its toll on us the next year when august 9th looms... the people are so used to it, they dont feel united anymore cause it doesnt affect them... only the 60,000 or so in the national stadium or the padang feel united cause they are the ones who get the goodie bags, not the rest of us... so the only way to make us feel united again, i propose, is to allow us to celebrate our nationalistic tendencies by going through a common experience which is easily available to everybody and the haze during this time of the year is just perfect: everybody in singapore gets it, everybody feels the same way about it and the best part of all, its cheaper than the whole national day freakshow! in fact, its almost free cause the farmers in our neighbours have no lack of matchsticks... lagi best...

besides, the PSI numbers on the screen seem to be more varied than the national day shows every year...

finally got this issue off my chest... phew... thanks for reading...

16 more days!!! omg... pink ic is finally coming home...
